Dr. Cyrus Raoufi is a faculty member in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the British Columbia Institute of Technology. Cyrus obtained a Ph.D. at the University of Toronto and M.Sc. at Queen's University both in Mechanical Engineering. He is a registered Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) with more than 15 years professional industrial experience working as a Mechanical Engineer, Project Manager, Product Designer, and Tool Engineer. His work experience and research interests are in the design and integration of robotics/special purpose machines, automation, and system modeling/simulation using CAD/CAE. Dr. Raoufi is also the president of CYRA Engineering Services Inc., a consulting, design and system integrator firm focusing on small size robots, machines and automation system.  Dr. Raoufi is a member of the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) and Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia (EGBC) in Canada.
